IGCS 2023 Copyright Policy

I submitted an abstract to IGCS 2023. Who holds the copyrights over the abstract? When are the full abstracts, abstract titles and abstract author information released?

The Abstract Submitter grants each of the IGCS 2023 Organizers the license and right to use, reproduce, publish, translate, distribute, and display the Content or any part thereof, in any manner and on any platform or media whatsoever, in each Organizer’s absolute discretion, on a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable nonexclusive basis.

Abstracts accepted for presentation at the IGCS 2023 Meeting are placed under embargo. The embargo release date depends on the type of abstract – regular or late-breaking submission. During the embargo period, the abstract authors are not permitted to present, publish or post the abstract body elsewhere. Short sections of the abstract (2-3 sentences) can be published online for marketing purposes if necessary.

Abstracts presented at the IGCS 2023 Meeting can be presented at other meetings as seminal presentations after their presentation at the IGCS 2023 Meeting.

My abstract was accepted for poster at the IGCS 2023 Meeting. Who holds the copyrights over the poster? Can I publish the poster on my own/my institution’s website/social media or use it for any other publications?

Posters/E-Posters prepared for presentation (including featured printed poster presentation, E-Poster presentation, and Trials in Progress E-Poster presentation) at the IGCS 2023 Meeting are placed under presentation and publication embargo. The embargo is released 3 months after the Meeting ends (February 7^th, 2024). During the embargo period, poster authors are not permitted to present, publish or post the full poster elsewhere.

My surgical film was accepted for presentation at the IGCS 2023 Meeting. Who holds the copyrights over the film?

Surgical films accepted for presentation (including featured surgical film presentation, and on-demand surgical film cinema) at the IGCS 2023 Meeting are placed under presentation and publication embargo. The embargo is released 3 months after the Meeting ends (February 7^th, 2024). During the embargo period, the film authors are not permitted to publish or post the full film elsewhere.

I did an oral presentation at the IGCS 2023 Meeting. Who holds the copyrights over the presentation slide deck? Can I publish, share or use my slide deck freely?

The copyrights over individual presentation slide decks remain with the presenting authors. IGCS holds the copyrights over the recordings of the presentations during the IGCS 2023 Annual Global Meeting or recordings of other contents used by IGCS for on-demand viewing associated with the IGCS 2023 Meeting. Speakers scheduled to present at the IGCS 2023 Meeting will be contacted by the Meeting Organizers to complete a Recording and Publication Consent Form prior to the event.

We kindly request presenting authors to not share their slides publicly prior to their presentation at the IGCS 2023 Meeting.

Is it possible to receive a slide deck presented at the IGCS 2023 Meeting after the Meeting?

Since authors retain the copyrights over their presentation slide decks, IGCS is not collecting or distributing them. The presenting authors are required to submit their slide deck onsite at the Speaker Ready Room only for presentation purposes during the session. If you are interested in a certain presentation after the Meeting, please visit the Education360 Learning Portal to view the on-demand content.
